The Wasilla Creek Wetlands Trail is an easy trail that takes you on a floating boardwalk through the natural wetlands of Wasilla Creek.
The trail only takes about thirty minutes to an hour to complete, making it perfect for a family outing with young children. There are also plenty of photo opportunities, and at the end of the walk, you’ll come to a nice view of Pioneer Peak.
If you’re lucky, you may even get to see a moose or a variety of birds.
The Wasilla Farmers’ Market
No small town is complete without a farmers’ market, and the Wasilla farmers’ market is quite the outing. Here, you’ll find a range of handcrafted items as well as locally produced foods.
The farmers’ market is held every Wednesday and lasts all day.
Wasilla Lake
Wasilla Lake is a hub for seasonal activities. In the summer, families enjoy kayaking, camping, swimming, and sunbathing. In the winter, ice skating, hockey, and Christmas festivities are hosted here.
Newcomb Park is right near the lake, and it has a nice playground for younger children as well as more beautiful scenery to take in.
